BRYAN MCLAREN; MBA Chairman
Mr. McLaren is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zoned Properties, a strategic real estate development firm whose primary mission is to provide real estate and sustainability services for the regulated cannabis industry. Mr. McLaren has a strong professional background in the social, economic, and environmental development of complex business organizations. Over his professional career, he has successfully implemented large-scale projects for corporate and community organizations. McLaren holds a Bachelors of Business Administration and Ethics Studies from the University of San Diego, a Masters of Sustainable Development from Northern Arizona University, an Executive Masters in Business Leadership from Arizona State University, and an MBA with specialty in Sustainable Development. Throughout his graduate career, McLaren devoted time to community development and philanthropic efforts earning a number of honors and awards including Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society Membership and the Distinguished Walton Scholarship. Mr. McLaren has been certified as a Licensed REALTOR, Green Roof Professional, LEED Green Associate, and is an active Forbes Contributor as part of the Forbes Real Estate Council. Prior to his role at Zoned Properties, McLaren worked as a Sustainability Consultant for Waste Management where he led the strategic development and operational implementation of zero-waste programs for Higher Education clients. McLaren has worked as a Sustainability Program Manager in the Higher Education industry and has been appointed as a City Sustainability Commissioner. Sustainable development has been a life-long passion for McLaren, who strives to create a global impact by forging a strong foundation for principles of sustainability in emerging industries.
DR. ALEX MCLAREN; MDDirector
Alex McLaren, MD, Professor, Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Arizona, College of Medicine-Phoenix, is currently the VP, Clinical Outcomes for SharedClarity. Previously he served for 10 years as the Program Director of the UA COM-P Orthopedic Residency Program, which he started from the ground up. Dr McLaren continues to do research and teach medical students in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery. After graduating from Queen’s University, School of Medicine, Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1977, Dr. McLaren completed his Orthopedic Residency at the University of Western Ontario in 1982 and than an Orthopaedic Fellowship at the University of Southern California in 1983. Dr. McLaren is first and foremost an orthopedic educator and researcher whose career has included teaching, research and administration of educational programs. His clinical interest include orthopedic infections, revision arthroplasty and complex musculoskeletal trauma. With numerous peer review publications, professional presentations and lectures, NIH funded research, and medical association postings, Dr. McLaren has established a respected international reputation.
ART FRIEDMANIndependent Director
Mr. Friedman has served as Owner/Principal of Triple J Management Services which specializes in consulting and professional services for the alcoholic beverage industry. Art was most recently President and CEO of Gold Coast Beverage Distributors, a position he held for the last 10 years of his 23 years with the company. During his tenure as President/CEO, Gold Coast more than tripled sales revenue and increased EBITDA by more than five-fold. Over the same period, Mr. Friedman led significant market share gains through organic growth as well as consolidating wholesaler acquisitions. Mr. Friedman began his career with General Foods Corporation, now part of Kraft Foods. He has served on the distributor advisory councils of Diageo-Guiness, Heineken USA, InBev and Miller-Coors. Mr. Friedman graduation Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Florida, Warrington School of Business.
DAVID HONAMANIndependent Director
Mr. Honaman has a strong background in financial and business management. He is a graduate of Michigan State University with a BA degree in Finance. His business career started as a CPA with Ernst & Young serving various clients with audit and consulting services. After 5 years at E&Y, he moved into corporate business with Wolohan Lumber Co, a NASAQ traded company, and a retail supplier to the new home construction and home improvement industry. He served in various positions, including Senior Vice President and CFO. During his twenty-two year career with Wolohan, the company grew from 25 to 70 locations and revenue increased 5 fold. The company is now part of the ProBuilt Holdings LLC. From 2001 through 2009, Mr. Honaman was CFO with Wilcox Associates Inc and then an independent financial consultant. In 2010, Honaman was part of a team that lead the buyout of Advanced Benefit Solutions, Inc d/b/a 44 North., a Group Benefits Insurance Agency and Consulting firm. Since 2010, the company has a CAGR of 30%. Mr. Honaman serves the Company as CFO and Treasurer and is a Senior Principal and a member of the Board of Directors.
DR. DEREK OVERSTREET; PHDIndependent Director
Dr. Overstreet, PhD, will join the Board as an Independent Director and will additionally serve on various Committees under the Board of Directors. Dr. Overstreet is co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Sonoran Biosciences, which develops new sustained-release pharmaceutical formulations for applications including orthopaedic infection and postoperative pain management. Dr. Overstreet holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a Doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering from Arizona State University. His expertise is in the development of novel polymer-based materials for medical applications including drug delivery. He has authored 11 peer-reviewed scientific publications and 2 patent applications. Dr. Overstreet’s experience navigating the scientific field of pharmaceuticals and drug delivery will be invaluable in assisting the strategic development and implementation of the Zoned Properties’ business model.
JODY KANEIndependent Director
Mr. Kane is co-founder and Managing Partner of Diamond Bridge Capital, an investment firm, where he has managed a portfolio of public and private investments primarily focused on the small cap sector since 2008. In addition, since May 2021, Mr. Kane has served as an advisor to Harbor Access LLC, a U.S. and Canadian based investor relations firm. In this role, he advises companies on corporate strategy and investor awareness. In addition, Mr. Kane owns and manages a real estate portfolio in the New York and Connecticut regions. From August 2014 to July 2020, he served as a research analyst for Wooster Capital Management, LLC, a hedge fund. Mr. Kane has a long history in the investment management business, previously working at the multi-billion dollar Schonfeld Group hedge fund, serving as a published analyst at Sidoti & Co. and working for the billion dollar Michael Steinhardt family office. Mr. Kane was one of the first investors in GrowGeneration Corp. (Nasdaq: GRWG) and served on its board of directors from May 2014 to January 2018. He graduated from Troy University, with a B.S. in Finance.
